A Legacy of Compassion and Healing
Founded in the heart of Tuscaloosa, our center began as a small collective of dedicated advocates seeking to provide a safe space for children who had been through unimaginable pain. Over the years, we have grown into a comprehensive non-profit organization, driven by a singular mission: to facilitate healing and recovery through tailored programs and resources.
Our core values are rooted in empathy and professional excellence. We believe that every child deserves a second chance at a healthy, happy future. By integrating expert forensic interviews with advocacy, parenting support, and trauma-informed therapy, we ensure that our services are not just about treatment, but about building a foundation for lasting peace and resilience.

Our History
The Tuscaloosa Children’s Center, Inc. (TCC) was established in 1988 as a response to the growing need for a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach to investigating and treating child abuse. What began as a visionary effort by community leaders has evolved into a cornerstone of protection and healing for children in West Alabama. For over three decades, we have provided a safe environment where children’s voices are heard and their journey toward recovery begins.
Throughout our trajectory, TCC has expanded its services to include specialized forensic interviews, family advocacy, and trauma-informed therapy. By working closely with law enforcement, child protective services, the District Attorney's Office, and mental health professionals, we ensure that every child receives the comprehensive care they deserve.
Our history is defined by the countless lives changed and the enduring commitment of our supporters, staff, and donors who believe in a future free from abuse.
